Ghana names 22 to footballers to play against Niger

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited 22 local players to commence camping in preparation towards the second-leg match against Niger in the Africa Nations Championship (CAN) qualifier 13 April in Niamey, the capital of Niger.

Mr. Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the GFA who announced the list here, entreated all the players to report at the GFA secretariat for onward transportation to the camping venue.

It is speculated in football circles that the Stars would camp in the Upper East region, which has the same weather condition as Niger at this time of the year.

Ghana will go into the second-leg match with a two-goal advantage, having won the first-leg encounter in Kumasi 2-0.

The invited players include Abdul Fatau Dauda, Wakasu Mubarak — Ashgold — Aziz Tetteh – Liberty Professional, David Addy – Wa All Stars, Edmund Owusu Ansah, Emmanuel Banahene, Dominic Adiyah and John Boye all of Kpando Heart of Lions, Jordan Opoku, Eric Bekoe, Richard Menu, Harrison Afful and Prince Anokye all of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Taufiq Jebril of Accra Hearts of Oak.

The rest are Emmanuel Boadu – Arsenals, Ekow Benson – Tema Youth, Baba Iddi – Kessben FC, Hanan Giwah – Real Tamale United and Joseph Addo – Sekondi Hasaacas. Panapress.
