The secretary of the Libyan general people’s committee for external affairs and international cooperation, Abderrahmane Chalgham, on Monday reviewed cooperation between Libya and Brazil in Tripoli with the Brazilian minister of external relations, Celso Amorim, who has begun a visit in Libya.

The meeting enabled the two officials to review means of consolidating cooperation in different fields and to exchange views on several regional and international issues of common interest.

The meeting discussed coordination between Libya and Brazil about preparations for the Africa-Latin America summit scheduled to take place in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, later this year.

Amorim told reporters on arrival on Monday that the two countries had deep relations in all fields and these ties were consolidated after the visit of the Brazilian president Lula Da Silva to Libya. He expressed the hope that his visit would give a new impetus to their relations. Panapress .
