The Nigeria Football Federation has blasted a report that the Nigeria U-23 team at the Olympics has been wearing only one jersey throughout.

General Secretary Bolaji Ojo-Oba said : “That is ridiculous. Whoever reported that must be ignorant of what determines the jerseys that teams wear during football matches.

“There is usually a pre-match meeting where the general coordinator, match commissioner, match referees and the two teams come together and talk about so many things, including jersey colours.

“We have both several sets of white and green jerseys for the tournament, but the green has been chosen in all the previous five games. And for each match, the players get two sets of jerseys.

“They have not been washing jerseys as erroneously reported. The players have been having two sets of jerseys for each match. They will get two sets for the final match as well, whether it is white or green,” Ojo-Oba said.
