Everton have failed to obtain a work permit for the Nigerian Olympic star Victor Obinna Nsofor.

The English Premier League side had hoped to take Obinna Nsofor on loan from Italian club Inter Milan. The 21-year-old forward did not meet the standard requirements for a work permit to be issued by the UK authorities, so a special hearing has been organised.

The striker was one of the stars of the recent Olympic football tournament, in which Nigeria won silver. Everton’s coach, David Moyes, desperate for new recruits after a slow start to the premiership, still has his fingers crossed on the Nigerian talent.

Obinna Victor will be looking to complement the exploits of fellow eagles, Mikel Obi, John Utaka, Obafemi Martin, Kanu Nwankwo, and Yakubu Ayegbeni in the English top flight

Napoli, Bologna and Tottenham and AS Roma were reported to be in the running for Obinna’s services, but Everton managed to secure a deal for him as the young Nigerian told journalists that he would love to fly at Goodison Park.
