Results of second round African Nations Cup – World Cup qualifying matches

Nigeria has become the first country to advance to the third round of the 2010 World Cup/African Cup of Nations football finals after beating South Africa 1-0 against the run of play in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on Saturday.

The victory gave Nigeria the maximum 15 points from 5 matches in group 4 of the African qualifiers, and shot the West African into the third stage, reserved for the 12 group winners and 8 best runners-up.
