Michael Essien’s injury sends Chelsea into rage

Michael Essien limped out of Ghana’s game against Libya early on in the World Cup qualifier on Friday and Chelsea FC is anxiously waiting for news on their midfield dynamo.

It has been reported lately that the Ghanaian will be out for more than a month. Chelsea was reported to be displeased at the news from Ghana because their Premier League clash with Manchester United is by the corner.

Chelsea team doctors are however battling to rush Essien back to the training ground before the 21stand with Claude Makelele now at Paris St Germain, new Chelsea boss, Scolari who would have loved to utilise Essien’s prowess will have to turn to Nigeria’s Mikel Obi to deliver in the meantime

Meanwhile, Chelsea will face new premier league Barons Manchester City next Saturday, with ex-Chelsea winger Shawn-Wright Phillips and former Chelsea target Robinho up for the contest. However, Essien, who will be unavailable for that game, has his hopes high on a speedy healing.
