ESPN’s Neil Everett and Stan Verrett to Host the 2010 NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast Honoring the Industry’s Next Generation Leaders

NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications) today announced that ESPN’s Los Angeles-based SportsCenter anchors, Neil Everett and Stan Verrett are confirmed as hosts of this year’s NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast. Scheduled for Thursday, May 13, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. PT, at the JW Marriott at LA Live! in Los Angeles, the event will feature the presentation of the Next Generation Leaders Awards, which honors the industry’s emerging business leaders who reflect and embrace NAMIC’s mission to educate, advocate and empower to achieve diversity and inclusion in the communications industry. The NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast is held as part of Cable Connection – Spring.

Everett joined ESPN in July 2000 as an anchor for ESPNEWS and SportsCenter after working 15 years for various affiliates where he served as sports director and weekday anchor. Verrett joined ESPN in September 2000 after working as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at WDSU-TV, an NBC affiliate in New Orleans. Everett and Verrett moved to ESPN’s new Los Angeles Production Facility in March 2009 to co-host the 1:00 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter.

George Bodenheimer, president, ESPN, Inc. and ABC Sports, and co-chairman, Disney Media Networks, is the honorary chair for the 2010 NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast. NAMIC board of directors, James Brown, senior vice president, ESPN Rise, ESPN and Danielle Wade, vice president, Customer Service and Marketing, Bright House Networks are the Planning Committee Co-Chairs for the 2010 NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast.
