US Intelligence groups monitoring extremists websites reported Wednesday that Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is expected to release a new message. The message which appeared on a Islamist website showed a still image of bin Laden holding an AK-47.

The report stated “A new message is forthcoming from the head of Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, titled: ‘The Response Will Be What You See, Not What You Hear,’

The notice appeared on Al-Ekhlaas, known for carrying statements and videos from al Qaeda and its allies. The identity of the speaker, however, could not be independently determined.

The message which condemns European countries for siding with the United States in Afghanistan and for allowing the publication of cartoons considered insulting to Islam’s prophet, Mohammed also warned Sunni Muslims in Iraq not to take up arms against Al-Qaeda and promised the “liberation of Palestine.”

This comes as US President George Bush said in a speech marking the fifth year of the US led war in Iraq that, “In Iraq, we are witnessing the first large-scale Arab uprising against Osama bin Laden, his grim ideology, and his murderous network. And the significance of this development cannot be overstated,” Bush said.

“we are witnessing the first large-scale Arab uprising against Osama bin Laden, his grim ideology, and his murderous network. And the significance of this development cannot be overstated” He continued.

Bin Laden, in hiding since the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US and with a 25-million-dollar bounty on his head, made his last public statement an audio message issued last December, asking his followers in Iraq to continue battling U.S. troops there.
