Following the French sports daily L’Equipe’s announcement, Wednesday, that Samir Nasri was to sign a four year contract with Arsenal, the English club and Olympique de Marseille have agreed to transfer the young midfielder, according to RMC. The footballer’s agent, however, has indicated that nothing has been done so far.

After a medical check up conducted with Arsène Wenger’s football club, the French sports daily, L’Equipe announced the Olympique de Marseille midfielder’s transfer for 15 million euros.

Notwithstanding this report, the footballer’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes indicated that they were “not in a hurry. It is true that we are examining an offer from Arsenal, which is interesting for Samir Nasri from a sporting point of view”, according to Goal.com. The agent further indicated that other offers were being carefully studied

The young footballer signed his first contract in 2004 with OM after they had discovered him. On the 7th of May this year Samir Nasri, often compared with Zinedine Zidane, prolonged his contract with Olympique de Marseille (OM) until 2012.

But before signing, the 20 year old international shared his ambitions with the press when he admitted that some big names in international clubs were interested in signing him. He also talked about a conversation he had had with Patrick Vieira concerning Inter (Italy), in which he had learnt about the club’s quality structures and players. “Playig with Ibrahimovic would be great: power, technique, class, he represents the modern striker. And i have always loved Calcio” he added.
