African Women Economic Summit 2012

Lagos, Nigeria – The Second African Women Economic Summit will take place in Lagos, Nigeria 12- 14 July. The event is hosted by New Faces New Voices in partnership with the Africa Development Bank, and will bring together African and global leaders to discuss the development of women in finance around the continent.

African government officials, researchers, non-governmental organization, big business and civil society are expected to cover topics such as how to increase women’s access to finance and how to strengthen the female economy in West Africa.

The keynote address will be delivered by the Minister of Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Speakers at the conference include: Dr. Donald Kaberuka, President of the AfDB: Mrs Graҫa Machel, Founder of New Faces New Voices; Ms Evelyn Oputu, Managing Director, Bank of Industry, Nigeria; Ms Nomsa Daniels, Executive Director, New Faces New Voices, and Dr Nambura Koigi, Managing Director, Post Office Savings Bank, Kenya.

The first edition of the summit took place in Nairobi, Kenya in 2010.
