Marijuana and tobacco are an explosive combination for the lungs.
It appears that regular tobacco smokers who also use marijuana run a
considerably increased risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary
disorder.

This risk is even greater among those with respiratory problems. According to a Canadian study, the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder is two and a half times higher among smokers than among non-smokers. But it’s three and a half times higher in those who regularly use both tobacco and marijuana.

A smoker like this who already has respiratory problems will see his risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder increase 18-fold!

This is the very first time data of this kind has been published. And these results are having a major impact in terms of public health. They also show that a combination of risk factors – in this case tobacco and marijuana – are not simply added together but actually multiplied.
