Ethiopia-Israel: Avigdor Lieberman meets Meles Zenawi to promote commerce

Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Avigdor Lieberman, accompanied by 23 Israeli business personalities are expected to hold talks with Ethiopian businessmen in Addis Ababa on September 2, 2009 with an aim of creating a mutual business partnership.

Mr. Avigdor Lieberman will also meet his Ethiopian counterpart, Mees Zenawi.

The Delegation, consisting of representatives from 20 top Israeli Economic and Business entities, besides accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister, will hold several rounds of business meetings with their Ethiopian counterparts to explore business opportunities in the country and also establish contacts, according to the Israeli Embassy in Addis Ababa.

Avigdor Lieberman will also have a field trip to remote areas of Ethiopia, where he is expected to inspect the country’s Agriculture sector performance.

However the deputy PM has revealed that his discussions with Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Meles zenawi, will touch on political affairs revolving around the ever deteriorating relations between Israel and Palestine, sources have disclosed.

After his visit to Ethiopia, the Israeli minister is expected to tour Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda under the same objectives according to the embassy.
