95 companies for Libya’s aviation exhibition

Some 95 companies from 25 countries are expected to attend the second edition of the Libyan Aviation Exhibition (LAVEX 2007), scheduled for 29-31 October in Tripoli, an official Libyan source told PANA here Friday.

Organisers of the exhibition said it would focus on the latest inventions in the areas of aviation and air navigation.

A source at the Libyan general professional congress for air transport said a conference on aviation sciences, due to take place on the sidelines of the exhibition, would be dedicated this year to the development of women’s role in the air transport sector.

Several European and Arab women’s delegations will participate in the exhibition, in addition to experts from Germany, Greece, Canada, France, Morocco and Libya, who will present papers.

The chairman of the military parade committee said teams from Italy, France, Russia and Libya would perform air shows throughout the exhibition.

Libyan pilots will take part in the show with Mig 21 and Mig 23 Sukhoy 22-type aircraft, M135 and M114 helicopters and “Samar Kit” training aircraft.

French pilots will fly “Rafale” planes and the Russians Mig 29, Sukhoy 32 planes and the M135 and ML6 combat helicopters.

Libya organised the first Libyan Aviation Exhibition 4-6 December 2006, with the participation of 68 international companies from the UK, France, the US, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, India, Russia, Canada, Portugal, Tunisia, Malta, Poland and Libya.
