The hosts of the 2008 African Cup of Nations, the Black Stars, proved their determination when they came from behind to take way the day’s victory, after a first score by the Super Eagles.

First goal of the match was obtained by Yakubu (37) through a penalty after he is brought down by Owusu of the Black Stars.

Ghana equalises in the 47th minute through a header by Michael Essien which dangerously hit the goal post before crossing the line into the goal post.

Panick strikes the Ohene Gyan stadium as Ghana is left with only ten men when Mensah (the black star captain) is given the sack after he brings down Osaze in the 60th minute.

Ghana Coach LeRoy follows the incredible mishap with a substitution. Laraya Kingston replaces Asamoah Gyan.

82nd minute. Sulley Muntari manoeuvres an intelligent low cross which Agogo sends straight into the Nigerian net.

There is total euphoria, characterized by a vivid roar in the Capital, Accra, at the end of the match as Ghana heads straight for the semis !
