Gambia’s five-star Atlantic Hotel General Manager has been deported to his native country, France, by the Gambia Immigrant Department, sources confirmed.

According to the sources, the Frenchman was picked-up from his office at the hotel by senior immigration officers, taken to their head office, where he was declared permission non-granted that he should leave with the next available flight or by road.

Hotel sources said the management under the Frenchman had been difficult, abused with exploitation being the order of the day as he insulted staff anywhere things went wrong, adding that he dismissed staffers at will with impunity.

Anonymous staff said the Frenchman was known for his unlawful actions, ranging from under- payment to wrongful dismissals as well as forcing staff to come to work on public holidays.

Public Relation Officer of the Gambia Immigration Department Superintendent Olim atou Jammeh-Sonko confirmed the Frenchman’s deportation but declined to comment further. Panapress .
