The 28-year-old Senegalese immigrant man was stabbed to death as he tried to broker peace in a dispute between a Senegalese and a Gypsy family from Rome.
His death led to an angry crowd of African immigrants who resulted into violence and public disorder.
The southern town police said the charge began in the early hours of Sunday, and resulted in the arson of houses and cars. However, necessary arrests have been made and prosecutions will follow, according to reports emanating from the Almeria province.
