Ministers have their hearts in their mouths as President Umaru Yar’adua prepares to announce the names of ministers to be sacked in what is a major cabinet shake-up at the Federal Executive Council meeting today, reports have claimed.

Yesterday the former Secretary to the Government Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, was sacked and sources believe it was a lead up to the pending cabinet reshuffle.

It is rumoured that many of the ministers on the sack list, have been guilty of misleading the president on some policy concerns or making statements that put the government in a bad light, while some others are said to be simply obsolete and incompetent of handling their respective ministries.

The cabinet reshuffle is also expected to fill the existing vacancies in the cabinet following the forced resignation of the former health ministers, Professor Adenike Grange and Architect Gabriel Adukwu early this year.
