UK-Ethiopia: Baroness Kinnock, Africa Minister visits Ethiopia

Baroness Kinnock, Minister for Africa, is visiting Ethiopia on 26-28 January before attending the African Union Summit later in the week.

As part of her 2 day bilateral visit to Ethiopia, the Minister will discuss the upcoming elections in May with the government of Ethiopia and opposition parties.

She will reinforce the need for free and fair elections and call on all parties to engage constructively in the election process.

She will meet the head of the European Union delegation in Ethiopia to discuss the forthcoming EU Exploratory Observation Mission, chair a roundtable with women parliamentarians at the British Council and visit projects addressing key governance and development issues.

The Minister will then have a number of bilateral meetings with African leaders and foreign ministers attending the 14th African Union Summit.
