Rappers and their preference for light-skinned women

Links to articles on Lil Wayne’s and Kanye West’s preferences for light-skin women throughout their lyrics. Earlier this week, we featured two stories from different sources on the admiration that both Lil Wayne and Kanye West have for light-skinned women. Both stories sparked plenty of discussion amongst our Black Planet members. Throughout their careers, as have many rappers, Lil Wayne and Kanye West have professed their love for light-skin women through various tracks. But these “preferences” never reached the boycott level. Earlier this week, Bossip.com wrote a story about a female model claiming that Wayne disrespected dark-skin women in his presence along with his Young Money mates.
