After angry disputes interrupting voting in the Kenyan Parliament for a new speaker, the parliament went back to voting, opting for a secret ballot.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which claims to have won the elections obtained 105 seats while its main rival the Party of National Unity (PNU) the winner of the disputed presidential elections got only 46 seats in parliament.

Although the opposition (ODM) had announced an earlier intention of occupying benches meant for the ruling party PNU, Raila Odinga, leader of ODM, accepted the seat reserved for him as an opposition leader.

This will be a tough test for President Mwai Kibaki in that, stamps of approval needed from the majority of lawmakers belonging to the ODM will make their rule unpleasant.
