Senegal’s coach resigns
The head coach of the Senegalese national football squad , Henri Kasperczak, has resigned following his team’s 1-3 to Angola in the second round, Group D mat ch at the 26th Africa Cup of Nations in Tamale, Ghana, Sunday, the local media reported.
According to panapress reports, the Senegalese Football Association (FSF) had ”taken note” of the coach’s decision.
The French-Polish coach resigned as criticism mounted across the nation over the performance of the team since the start of the tournament.
The “Lions of Teranga” drew 2-2 against Tunisia in their first match and lost 1- 3 to Angola, seriously undermining their chances of advancing to the quarter finals.
After the loss to Angola Sunday, several youths protested in the streets of the capital city, Dakar.
Senegal will play its last group match Thursday against South Africa.
