The Mauritanian government on Friday condemned Thursday night’s attack on the Israeli embassy in Nouakchott in which three people who were at a restaurant nearby were wounded. The spokesman of the government, Abdel Aziz Ould Dahi, stressed the determination of the authorities to bring the culprits of “this criminal act” to justice. Dahi said the security guards on duty at the embassy fired back at the assailants who fled. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack which comes just about one month after two other attacks in southern and northern Mauritania.
