The World Bank is planning to develop health facilities in Congo and help set up a National Health Development Plan in the country, according to Marie Francoise Marie Nelly, the bank’s director of operations in the DR Congo and Congo. “As part of its interventions in Congo, the World Bank is preparing a new operation with a much more structured approach to develop health facilities and help set up a National Health Development Plan”, she said Friday “We are planning to develop a much more significant strategy which will be based on the National Poverty Reduction Paper,” Nelly told journalists. The World Bank is currently piloting five projects in Congo, notably in the areas of governance, AIDS control and basic education.
