A total of 99 goals were scored in the 32 matches played at the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana, which rounded off in Accra Sunday evening. The number broke the all time record of 93 goals for a single tournament, held by the 1998 edition in Burkina Faso. It also represents an average of 3.09 goals per match, considered to be among the highest in the history of the competition.
