Germany has donated 4 million euros to Sierra Leone to boost the African nation’s fight against HIV/AIDS. The donation was handed over to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Finance, David Omoshola Carew, by the German Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Rolf Saligman. Saligman said the money, which came from the German Development Bank, will be used to support a joint HIV/AIDS prevention programme that is to be executed by the office of the international humanitarian organisation CARE, in Sierra Leone, The German diplomat said the bank had been commissioned by the German government to implement the programme, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone’s National AIDS Secretariat, with CARE’s office in Sierra Leone as the executing agency.
