A return match, in the African champions league play-offs, scheduled for next weekend between Vitalo (Burundi) and Cotton Sport of Garoua, has been postponed. The match has been cancelled “for security reasons in Cameroon”. Cameroon is faced with violent clashes following Monday’s strike action started by urban transport unions who are not in favour of price increment in petroleum and other related products. A fax from the African Football Confederation (CAF) was received around noon Thursday to confirm the decision. “This happened at a time when the Vitalo team was already waiting for their flight at the Bujumbura international airport , said the executive secretary of the Burundi Football Federation, Gérémie Manirakiza. The Vitalo team had lost in the first leg of the match against Cotton Sport of Garoua by one goal to nil.
