Uganda leader Yoweri Museveni has attributed the high rate of failed marriages in his country to the lack of trust among married couples , saying “it is the biggest vice that spoils marriage”. “Indulging in marriage without proper commitment and trust is like drinking local brew with drugs because one who is taking the brew lives under the fear of being chocked,” Museveni told a congregation here Saturday at the wedding ceremony of two of his political associates. In his message to the newly-wedded, Museveni told them to practice the virtue of forgiveness and patience to maintain their sacred marriage vows. He cautioned them against promiscuity which, he said, could lead to HIV/AIDS inf ection, premature death and broken homes. Statistics have shown that for every 10 new marriages in Uganda, 60 per cent do not last more than a year. Panapress
