Benin appoints new members to Constitutional Court

The Government and National Assembly (parliament) of Benin Monday evening appointed their representatives to the Constitutional Court, three months ahead of the completion of the tenure of the current members, an official source said Tuesday in Cotonou. The three government representatives are Clemence Gnimberer Dansou, Robert Dossou and Robert Tagnon, while the National Assembly appointed Afouda Gbela Marcelline-Claire, Degboe Bernard, Holo Theodore and Kora Yaoure Zime Yerima. No minister, elected official, civil servant, military officer or professional can be a member of the Constitutional Court, which has been headed by a woman since 1993. Panapress
