Mauritanian foundation supports returnees

The Khattou Mint Boukhary Foundation, named after the Mauritanian First Lady, has donated six tonnes of food aid, blankets, mosquito nets and sewing machines to refugees repatriated from Senegal 29 January. The donation was made Wednesday afternoon in the southern city of Rosso.
The First Lady said at the ceremony that the donation was part of the Foundation’s “assistance programme for refugees returning to the country”. She said it was also in keeping with the teachings of Islam and “noble Mauritanian values”. The donation took place in presence of the governor of the Rosso region and the director of the National Refugee Reintegration Support Agency (ANAIR). Panapress.
