South Africa: Four armed men arrested in a Tshwane mall

Four gunmen was were arrested after a stand off with the police at the Temba Shoprite Checkers shopping complex in Tshwane, South Africa. The men who had accosted the store’s manager and assistant when they opened the safe retreated into the back of a shopping complex when one of the shop’s employees alerted the police. The stand off lasted about 5 hours, amid stunt grenade explosions and negotiations. The Tshwane metro station and roads were closed off. The four who had a firearm in their possesion at their time of arrest are to be arraigned before he Temba magistrate’s court. iol
