A helicopter belonging to the French force in Cote d’Ivoire crashed on Monday afternoon in the south of Bouaké, some 350 km in the north of Abidjan, but the two occupants survived the crash. A statement from ‘Operation Licorne’, made available to PANA here, said the chopper with two crew members on board was operating ‘a technical flight’ when it crashed. The statement blamed the crash on pilot error and said an enquiry was underway to determine what went wrong. ‘Operation Licorne’ is the name of the French military operation in support of the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire.
