South Africa, rebuilding its national soccer squad for the 2010 World Cup which it will host, Tuesday beat neighbouring Zimbabwe 2-1 in an international friendly. Host South Africa went to the break trailing 1-0, but came back a rejuvenated side in the second half and dominated ball possession. Its efforts were soon rewarded with an equaliser and, in the dying seconds of the match, an own goal by Zimbabwean defender James Matola. South Africa and Zimbabwe have intensified training to sharpen their camapigns for the 2010 World Cup, and have both engaged Brazilian coaches to guide their squads. Panapress.
