An aircraft carrying over 83 passengers and crew has crashed killing dozens in The Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly known as Zaire. The crash occured soon after the plane, a DC-9 belonging to Kinsasha based Hewa Bora Airways, took off from the town of Goma around 3 pm local time. The airline was recently banned from operating in Belgium after security and safety measures were violated. According to reports from the BBC six people including the pilot and co-pilot have survived.
