66 persons survive DR Congo plane crash

Official reports from The Democratic Republic of Congo have confirmed that some 66 passengers have survived a plane crash that was originally believed to have killed most of its 83 passengers and crew on board. The aircraft, a DC-9 belonging to Kinsasha based Hewa Bora Airways, crashed soon after it took off from the town of Goma at around 3 pm local time on Tuesday. The airline was recently banned from operating in Belgium after security and safety measures were violated.
