Executions may resume in the United States

The Supreme Court’s decision Wednesday cleared the way for executions to take place once again in the United States according to USA Today. Several scheduled executions had been postponed pending this decision. Thirty five states currently apply the death penalty in the United States. It is believed that executions will start as soon as next week in the states of Texas, Alabama and Virginia (New York Times).
