French President Nicolas Sarkozy has reaffirmed his resolve to help shed light on the disappearance of Chadian opposition leader Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh, an official statement issued here said. According to the statement, he made the pledge in a interview at the Elysée Palace with the leader of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and former Chadian President, Lol Mahamat Choua. President Sarkozy said that it was imperative for the commission of inquiry, set up by Chadian President Idriss Deby to shed light on the arrest and disappearance of some opposition leaders, “to start working without delay with the full support of the international community”. He called for “a resumption of the political dialogue to ensure lasting peace and national reconciliation in Chad.”
