According to Al Jazeera, Saleh al-Hindi, a member of the General Peoples Congress, the ruling party in Yemen was shot dead earlier today in the northwest region of Saada.
Reuters news agency reported that the man was killed with his two body guards and his son when armed men fired at his car before managing to escape.
The region is politicaly unstable due to rebel activity and Saleh al-Hindi had already escaped other assassination attempts.
