Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Obuasi Ashantigold 2-1 on Sunday in Kumasi to win the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup. Francis Coffie scored both goals for Kotoko in the 45th and 83rd minutes to cancel Alex Asamoah’s 29th minute leader and give Kotoko victory and the cup. Asamoah had silenced the Kotoko fans when he beat two defenders in a counter attack and planted the ball in the net through the blind side of goalkeeper Soulama Aboudulaye. The match, which is sponsored annually by the State Insurance Company (SIC), was patronised by a size-able number of spectators.
