One killed in protests in southwest China

One person died and five were critically wounded by Chinese police this Tuesday. According to the Chinese Human Rights Defenders network, police fired on up to 100 villagers on Monday in Saixi village in Yunnan province, killing one. The protesters were trying to block the construction of a tungsten mine considering the compensation they were offered to leave their homes for this construction insufficient.(France 24)
