Kenyan leaders visit Rift Valley

The two leaders of the newly formed Kenyan unity government, President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga started touring the Rift Valley, one of the areas where the post electoral violence was fierce. A disputed presidential poll in December 2007 led to the death of over 1,500 people and the displacement of 600,000. According to BBC News the Prime minister claimed that the government’s priority was seeing to the needs of those still affected by the post electoral clashes.
