Date set for release of Mauritius’ 2008 to 2009 budget

The 2008-2009 annual budget of Mauritius will be presented 6 June at the parliament, Finance Minister Rama Sithanen announced here Saturday evening. He declared that the budget would cover a fiscal year, from July 2008 to June 2009. “The next budget will be presented at the parliament in November to be adopted before the end of the year, so that the decisions come into force from 1 January,” Sithanen noted.
