Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles Sunday beat their visiting counterparts from Burkina Faso 2-0 in their first leg, first round qualifiers of the African Nations Championship for locally-based players. The goals were scored by Bello Kofarmata in the 28th and Uche Otorogu in the 50th. The Nigerians were not impressive in the match, watched by a capacity crowd at the U.J. Esuene stadium in the South-eastern city of Calabar. Nigeria coach Okey Emordi said the Stallions of Burkina Faso had a better game plan that his wards, hence the second leg in a fortnight will be a tough affair.
