Three Cameroonian clubs, Cotonsport of Garoua, Astres of Douala and Mont Cameroon, over the week-end qualified for the next round of t he African football championships. In the African league, despite its 1-2 loss to Jeunesse Sportive of Kabylie (JSK ) in the first leg in Algeria, Cotonsports still qualified for the semi-final of the tournament by its 3-0 thumping on the first leg In the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) Cup competition, Astres drew 1-1 against AS Vita club in Kinshasa. The goalless draw in the first leg has favoured Astres’ qualification due to the goal scored in their away match. Mont Cameroun’s 5-0 drubbing of South Africa’s Ajax Capetown helped them secure their qualification despite their 1-5 away defeat in the first leg. The Camerooonian clubs’ opponents will be known during the draw scheduled for 17 May.
