Nineteen people were burnt to death when the bus in which they were travelling crashed along the Benin-Asaba highway in Mid-western Nigeria Tuesday evening, the local press reported. Though the details were sketchy, the report said the bus had a burst tyre, overturned and caught fire, incinerating all the occupants. The accident occurred at Agbor, along the highway. Motor accidents are common in Nigeria, where a combination of bad roads and poor driving habits – including excessive speed – constitutes a potent mix for motorists.
