Francophone Africa drama competitions to kick off in December

The first edition of a drama competition among Francophone African nations will hold 11-14 December in Cotonou, Benin’s economic capital, organisers said Sunday. Initiated by the Béo Aguiar company, the competition is aimed at developing theatre in Africa and confirming the place and role of Benin in the field. The organisers have set aside 14 trophies to reward the winners of the competition, to be held in different categories, including production and comedy. Among the 23 francophone countries scheduled to participate are host Benin, Cameroon, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger and Chad.
