Ninety Four police personnel, including two superintendents, one Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), five women police constables (WPC), have been dismissed for falling foul of the laws of the Sierra Leone Police Force. Speaking to journalists Thursday, Director of Police media Inspector Ibrahim Samurah said the personnel were dismissed for various reasons, including professional misconducts, absence from duty and negligence. “Some not only absented themselves from work without permission, others also engaged in indecent acts contrary to the Force order and what it stands for.” The director said the actions were taken as a follow up to recommendations made by the Complaints, Discipline and Internal Investigations Department (CDIID) of the Sierra Leone Police. Inspector Samura said the decision to terminate the services of the officers was reached Thursday by the Executive Management Board of the Force. He said he affected personnel had a right to appeal the decision.
