A Comoran ship, Bushralher, caught fire at the port of Moroni on Monday, but firemen promptly brought it under control, the gendarmerie brigade at the port of Moroni said. There was no casualty and no major damage to the ship in the Monday evening fire , the gendarmerie said, adding that the fire was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade of the Comoran hydrocarbons company located near the port. The fire started when workers were painting and welding parts of the ship. “It is the sparks caused by the welding which, in coming into contact with the painting, began the fire,” the gendarmes said. “Paint is highly flammable,” one of the port’s gendarmes said, adding that only “the boat’s toilets have been totally destroyed”.
