Security accord signed by Mauritius and France

Mauritius and France on Saturday signed an agreement in the French capital, Paris, covering security and civilian protection. Official sources in Port-Louis said on Sunday that the document was signed by the Mauritian Premier Navin Ramgoolam and the French Minister of the Interior, Ms Michèle Alliot-Marie who stressed the necessity for international cooperation in the area of security, which should be of concern to every government. The agreement provides for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of training and exchange of information.
