Uganda and Egypt have agreed to develop joint business ventures between the two nations in the agriculture, tourism and industrial sectors. The meeting, in Kampala, between Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and the Egyptian ministers of International Cooperation Fayza Aboul Naga and of Agriculture Amin Abaza set the parameters for the agreement — covering partnership in wheat growing, building an abattoir and establishing an animal feed plant. The agreement would also cover the building a resort hotel on the beaches of Lake Victoria in an effort to increase tourism. Abaza promised to increase Egyptian business investment in Uganda, saying that m any companies would be interested in importing powder milk from Uganda. Along with African Union discussion, the two nations discussed means in which both governments could study water engineering and irrigation as part of the continent’s needs to understand the growing water problems.
