Zambian gov’t spokeperson informs public on President’s state

Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa is scheduled to undergo medical examinations at the Percy Military hospital in Paris, France, chief government spokesperson, Mike Mulongoti said Friday. The state-run radio, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation quoted Information Minister Mulongoti as saying that the team of medical experts would later inform the government of its findings. Mwanawasa was flown to Paris from Egypt Wednesday after he suffered a stroke Sun day and he is admitted in the intensive care unit of the hospital, receiving treatment for hypertension.
